STUDY PERTH

EDUCATION • UX • Enterprise

StudyPerth represents Western Australia’s international education sector, promoting the state as a study destination for international students. This project focused on a strategic UX plan of the StudyPerth website to evaluate how effectively the experience supported international students and aligned with the organisation’s brand and objectives.

/01
brief

StudyPerth’s website played a critical role in promoting Western Australia as a study destination for international students, but the existing experience suffered from unclear messaging, dated branding, and usability issues that made it difficult for users to find relevant information or take next steps. The goal of this project was to audit the current experience, understand how it compared to competing study-destination platforms, and uncover real user pain points that were limiting engagement and trust.

/02
solution

I led a UX-focused discovery phase that combined competitor analysis, usability auditing, and interviews with international students to identify gaps in navigation, content clarity, and overall experience. Insights from student research were synthesised into key themes, highlighting confusion around study pathways, lifestyle information, and calls to action. These findings informed a clear UX strategy and prioritised recommendations designed to improve structure, user flows, and engagement ahead of any visual redesign.

/03
deliverables

The project produced a comprehensive UX audit, competitor benchmarking analysis, international student interview insights, and a prioritised UX roadmap outlining improvements to information architecture, content hierarchy, and key user journeys. These deliverables formed a strong strategic foundation for a future UI redesign and development phase, ensuring design decisions would be grounded in validated user needs and best-practice UX principles.

/final words

This project was an invaluable deep dive into how strategic UX research can redefine a digital platform’s direction. The audit shaped future work by defining what truly matters to users and where StudyPerth needed to improve its digital experience. THE UX laid the foundation for a more intuitive, engaging website built around the real needs of international students.
